Mud Puddle and Mud Bath!

I have been so excited about this silly blogger thing all day. So here goes another story while I am still on the blog bandwagon. Tonight we ate at Hogwarts (Notre Dame dining hall). Then our friends from Ryan's class, the Petersens, wanted to play at the Sport's Court at our hotel. It only took a matter of minutes for Taegen, fully clothed in his PJ's, to find the big water puddle. He was splashing all around. Tyler, Logan and Carly Petersen really wanted to play in the water too but they weren't allowed. Their parents aren't as "cool" as we are. :):) So, since Taegen was in the water....it was only fair to put Kyler in the water too. When we came in we put the boys in the tub. I put a towel on the toilet seat (right next to the tub) and grabbed their pajamas and while I looked away for all of 1 second, Taegen grabbed the towel and put the whole thing in the water. He also proceeded to dunk his head, blow bubbles and then wipe off his face and repeat. Bathtime was almost over when all of a sudden little floaties were all about...and then they weren't so little anymore. Kyler had pooped all over the tub. Bath time is over!!!

Kyler Sitting Taegen Sliding

Well, I've never had a blog before but we had some super exciting news so I thought "Hey, why not start a blog." Afterall, everybody else is doing it. For a brief overview, I have 15 month old twin boys, Taegen and Kyler. Kyler has down syndrome and gets therapy 3x a week. So yesterday, Ryan and I were talking to Kyler's speech therapist and Kyler was rolling around on the floor. Ryan looked over at Kyler and he was sitting up by the door. (He has never sat up from laying down by himself). We started cheering and clapping and the therapist almost started crying. It was awesome. So on June 26th Kyler Joe sat up by himself for the first time. Yeah!!! That is Kyler's story and here is Taegen's. Taegen was sliding down a waterslide last week and he would slide on his belly, feet first. Well, you would think that it would be second nature to lift your head so as not to have your face flat on the slide. Taegen obviously didn't get that memo because he didn't lift his head. He got off the slide and had a fat, bleeding lip and blood coming out of both nostrils. Needless to say, he didn't go down the slide again. Well, that is about all the super exciting things that are going on. Ryan took his first of three finals today and so two more until a three day break. Yes!!
